Website Copywriter writing thank you card for client in cafe

That is prime online real estate. That YOU own. (Unlike Instagram or TikTok, which can be whipped away or the Algorithm updated at a moment’s notice.)

And the people who arrive on your digital doorstep—whether through SEO, social or recommendations—are already curious about you and what you have to offer.

The moment they set cursor on your site is an opportunity to get remembered, cultivate trust and, ideally, gain a shiny new lead, client or customer.

Yes, design matters. But words are ultimately what spark connection, create desire, and seal the deal. The two work best in tandem. Which is why I do both!

Why the focus on websites? Well, because…

A woman with long blonde hair, wearing a light blue shirt, is sitting at a table writing on paper. She is smiling and looking slightly to the side. There are green plants and a concrete wall in the background.

As a Copywriter & Squarespace designer in Auckland, NZ—I work with clients locally & globally.

How did I end up here? Well, for New Zealand, blame my Kiwi husband. 😉 For marketing wellness brands? I was the kid who ran to the library, had stacks of books piled up in my bedroom Matilda-style, and regularly tore pages from magazines I loved the look of.

I earned my BA in English Literature. I completed an internship at People magazine’s London Bureau that turned into a four year “stringer” role (where I got to attend the Pride & Prejudice London premiere—a dream!).

However, I decided journalism wasn’t for me, and after an interlude as a yoga teacher, I fused my love of wellness and writing and transitioned into a marketing position for triyoga, a leading family of yoga studios in London.

Eventually, a move to NZ beckoned, and I sharpened my sales copy slinging skills as in-house (remote) copywriter and client copywriting coach for Australia’s leading business mentor for health coaches & wellness entrepreneurs, Amanda Jane Daley.

Since then, I’ve built my own copywriting, consulting and web design business from my Auckland office nook—while contracting as a copywriter to several Auckland marketing agencies & an Australian website design and Conversion Rate Optimisation (CRO) studio.

I’ve added to my on-the job experience in copywriting, design and SEO with trainings from Copyhackers, Ashlyn Carter (Copywriting for Creatives), Paige Brunton (Squarespace Secrets), Applet Studio, NZIE (Digital Marketing Strategy) to name a few.

3 THINGS THAT UNDERPIN EVERY PROJECT.

3 THINGS THAT UNDERPIN EVERY PROJECT. ⎯

  • Connection.

When we work together, my hope is that it’ll feel like two equally-invested team members talking shop over coffee. (Long black for me!) That’s why I always meet my clients over Zoom to discuss their business, backstory and buyers in-depth. Bonus? Our heart-to-heart helps me make my words sound like you!

  • Collaboration.

Great copy and design are truly collaborative processes. That’s why I love to work with my clients, not for them. Don't worry, I'll bring the conversion know-how, SEO best practices and Squarespace skills—but your input, insights and timely responses are absolutely INVALUABLE to the best outcome of our work, and to ensure we meet delivery deadlines.

  • Strategy.

Effective copywriting and design (the kind that captures attention, creates clarity & gets clicks and conversions) isn’t just about pretty visuals. It’s about understanding what your ideal clients need to see and understand to move them to action — & prioritising those. So, honing your website strategy is always a big focus.

Collage of four photos: a beach scene, a cup of coffee, a resting Schnauzer dog, and a chocolate bar next to a coffee cup lid.

Finally, a few things you'd find out about me over coffee ☕️

  • I made the move from England to New Zealand in 2017, courtesy of my Kiwi husband.

  • The North Island’s beautiful beaches make my heart do handstands, London is my favourite city, with Copenhagen & Sydney tying for second!

  • I love all things hygge and cosiness & interior design magazines are the only ones I read.

  • Weekends aren’t complete without Pilates or visiting the beach with my little (mini schnauzer) pooch, Kombucha (Booch for short), and sweet as honey rescue staffy/sharpei Venus.

  • I have endometriosis, and don’t have kids. (Though…do furbabies count?!)

  • I’ve watched David Fincher’s ‘Girl with the Dragon Tattoo’ so many times that I’ve lost count. Skål!

Think we might go together like medjool dates & nut butter…or sav & summer?

Let’s connect on a no-strings call to scope out what you need support with.
